Saturn Ingress into Pisces: What Does This Mean for ME?!

The first big astrological event of the year has arrived - Saturn has entered Pisces. This only to be followed by Pluto's ingress into Aquarius 2 weeks later, an encounter with the Moon’s Nodes as they enter the Aries/Libra axis, and Jupiter as it advances into Taurus (more on this in a different post). As we recover from the collective trauma of the Saturn/Jupiter/Pluto conjunction of 2020 and the squares of Pluto/Eris and Uranus/Saturn, these upcoming transits may feel a bit like fallout. We are tired of waiting and ready for good news. For some, an urge to tune out may arise. Others might worry themselves about fixing the future. And then there are those of us who just want to know what this means for us personally.

So we’ll start with Saturn. He’s been a big player here lately, and most of us are terrified of him because of all the negative things we’re heard over the years. For the record, Saturn is not all bad, just as Jupiter is not all good. These planets are two sides of the same coin so to speak. When we talk about Saturn we are dealing with lessons in restriction. It’s like the parent who makes you do your chores before you can out and have fun, unlike Jupiter who will indulge our every whim until he wants something in return. So with Saturn, we have to put in the work first in order to get the rewards. And in order to work, we have to know the requirements up front. There is work ahead, but there are no hidden costs, that is, unless you've dumped your work onto someone or something else in order to avoid it. This is the basic energy in play.

Now we look at Pisces, the sign Saturn is transiting. Think of this as where Saturn will be working for the next 2.5 years. In my last post, I noted that each sign has a Ruler, of which Pisces has two - Neptune and Jupiter. These planets are key for understanding Saturn’s current behavior. Jupiter is the Classical Ruler -assigned before advanced telescopes. And in contrast to Saturn, Jupiter deals with lessons in expansion. There are no upfront costs, so rarely do we know what we’re getting ourselves into, but hey, it sure is fun! It’s like ordering from a menu without prices and not really knowing how much money you have. We might find ourselves in a dishpit when all is said and done. Just think of the crypto market! However, if we have worked honestly with Saturn, Jupiter will support us.

Behind Jupiter is the hidden influence of Neptune. It travels beyond the reaches of Saturn and Jupiter with the other generational planets of Uranus, Pluto, and the recently discovered Eris. So when discussing Neptune in terms of its shared Rulership with Jupiter, we are taking about how the collective experience affects our personal experience and vice versa. We experience Pisces personally through Jupiter and collectively through Neptune. And with Neptune so far away from the Sun, it’s hard to know what’s going on here, however it can be calculated if we apply logic. Neptune’s existence was predicted though mathematics before it was actually observed. This is key in understanding Neptune. If we pay attention, we can get a sense of what’s happening before anything materializes. We can use this energy to set intentions.

To put all this together we have some revelations at hand. Over the last 30 years, of which the last 3 have been especially potent, we have witnessed, and perhaps engaged in, many new investments of which the costs are largely unknown. These investments include time, money, relationships, and other resources. The entire world invested itself in a complete shutdown and reboot, rife with new technologies, therapies, and other solutions to problems not entirely made clear to the public. This is all becoming evident. For us personally, we have to look at how and where we invested our efforts in the last 30 years to get a sense of what’s ahead. With Saturn in Pisces, we have an opportunity to revise. We can see where we may have gone too far with the energy of Jupiter and make the necessary adjustments required of Saturn in preparation for 2025 when Saturn and Neptune meet at 0 degrees Aries. A new beginning awaits!

To understand what this means for us personally, we look to where the sign of Pisces falls in our natal chart. This will tell us what area of life is affected. If Pisces is on the cusp of 7th house, you can expect this energy to activate your important relationships. Or in the 11th house, we are dealing with group activities and other types of fellowship. In the 5th house, it might relate to children. Next, look to see where Saturn resides in our charts, the sign it is in, and the aspects it makes. And then we turn to Neptune and Jupiter for the same details. When we put these pieces together, a picture begins to emerge, and if we have been paying any attention to our efforts, the themes should all seem very familiar. This is the stage.

Once the stage has been set, we visit our Chart Ruler. This planet is going to have the final say on whatever is going on. If you are an Aries Rising, you will want to keep your eye on Mars and what aspects it makes not only to Saturn, but also Jupiter and Neptune in your natal chart, progression, and in transit. This is the how, when, and where it will affect you personally. Aspects such as the conjunction, opposition, and the square are the most potent, which is where you can feel the most pressure. It can get pretty complicated! Those areas we allowed to expand without consequence will now face tests. But the good news is we can learn our excesses, and if we pay attention to what’s in front of us and face it with integrity, we can make lasting changes and earn some excellent rewards. The choice belongs to us.
